Tshering Lama Sherpa

Tshering Lama Sherpa is a 4th year Ph.D. candidate at the University of Arizona. She grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal and Kalimpong, India surrounded by the Himalaya which sparked her initial curiosity in Geosciences. Her current research broadly focuses on understanding the tectonics of the Himalayan fold-thrust belt by combining field mapping, regional structural geology, accessory mineral geochronology, petrochronology and thermochronology, and thermal history modeling. Tshering is also passionate about outreach and service activities and strongly believes in creating an inclusive space in the geosciences and STEM in general.
