Diana Avadanii

Diana is a PhD researcher at the Department of Earth Science in Oxford, performing micromechanical investigations of geological materials. Her main interest lies within rock rheology and mineral physics, and how mechanical and microstructural properties of Earth Materials scale upwards and influence large scale geodynamic processes. A particular focus is developing a better understanding of the rheology of the upper mantle, especially olivine which is its main constituent. Diana has an additional role as Junior Dean at University College, Oxford, and she is an art enthusiast.
