Sophie L. Buijs

Sophie Buijs is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, she made a switch to an Environmental Sciences Masters program. In her research, she aims to improve our understanding of post-disaster recovery from a multi-risk perspective, within both human- and environmental systems. The work is a part of the EU H2020-funded MYRIAD-EU project, where she currently serves as the Early Career Representative. Recently, she also became a co-lead for the new RiskKAN working group on dynamic vulnerability.
