The EGU Geodynamics blog is 5 years old today! *throws confetti* Imagine being on the same contract in the same country for that long… Wow. Truly incredible. So let’s have a look at what we did over this past year of blogging.
What did we do?
Write and edit, mainly. I know – who’d’ve thought that is what editors do, right? But yes, writing and editing was done in abundance with a total of 106 blog posts. That’s a lot! I am very proud of and happy with my hardworking blog team. And talking about them…
Who are we?
Oh dear, have you already forgotten who we are? No worries, I just introduced the new blog team in this blog post. But it’s never just the blog team on their own. Frankly, we would get absolutely nowhere without all the incredible guest authors that share their knowledge and opinions with us. So, many thanks to all our wonderful guest authors in the past year:

How did it go?
Excellently! We are sitting comfortably at around 45,000 unique pageviews per year and we can easily boast well over 3,500 unique pageviews per month. Together with our steady blog output of two posts per week(!), I am incredibly proud of the active blog team that we have assembled here and I am very, very happy that people read our efforts.
And now what?
Well, as you may know, the coming year will be the last year I am editor-in-chief of the blog (and yes, I keep saying this loud and clear in the hopes I actually stick to it, because I need to cut down on some duties and projects). So, I hope to make this last blog year a great one and I sincerely hope it doesn’t all fall apart the minute I quit running it. Fingers crossed!
We can blow out five candles – I mean – volcanoes!
