Hanna Sophie Knahl

Hanna Sophie Knahl just finished her PhD at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven, Germany. She models the buildup of the Antarctic Ice Sheet and the onset of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current and other ocean currents from 34-24 Million years ago. Times that need the power of imagination since proxy data are sparse and model studies rare though the changes happening were fundamental for our climate today. Hanna enjoys doing outreach and being close to the ocean. Soon, she hopes to continue her research in Tasmania, the edge of her study area. Contact: hknahl@uni-bremen.de
