We are excited to announce the 12th edition of Geodesy Campfire – Share Your Research in November. The Geodesy EGU Campfire Events “Share Your Research” give (early career) researchers the chance to talk about their work. We have two exciting talks by our guest speakers, Amin Shakya and Vivek Yadav Kumar. Below, you can find the details of the topics awaiting us. We will have time to network after the presentations.
Please join us on Zoom on Sept 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (CEST). Register for this webinar here.
Amin Shakya @ University of Twente: Space-based river discharge estimation with satellite altimetry
Amin Shakya is a Doctoral Candidate at the ITC Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente, the Netherlands. Amin is researching the application of altimetry and SWOT earth observation missions to monitor the world’s river discharge. Amin has a double master’s degree in Water Science and Engineering from IHE Delft, the Netherlands and TU Dresden, Germany.
Vivek Yadav Kumar @ Indian Institute of Science, University of Melbourne: Blame Game: Identifying robust and direct process drivers in a Hydro-meteorological systems
Hello! I am Vivek, Joint PhD candidate at Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru and The University of Melbourne. My research focuses on quantifying the impacts of climate change and local human activities on Global Terrestrial Water Storage. To quantify these impacts, we extend the available GRACE-TWS data by reconstructing historical TWS in pre-GRACE era. We deploy machine learning methods informed with robust and direct drivers of TWS.
