We are finally back with the 8th edition of Geodesy Campfire – Share Your Research. The Geodesy EGU Campfire Events “Share Your Research” give (early career) researchers the chance to talk about their work. We have two exciting talks; one by Leire Retegui-Schiettekatte and the other by Vipin Kumar Maurya. Below you can find detailed descriptions of their talks. We will have time to network after the presentations.
Please join us on Zoom on October 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CEST). Register for this webinar here.
Leire Retegui-Schiettekatte @Aalborg University, Denmark. The title of the talk is:
Assimilating sub-monthly GRACE(-FO) TWS into large-scale hydrological models. Can it help to improve the representation of flooding events?
Leire Retegui-Schiettekatte is carrying out a PhD project on Multi-Sensor Satellite Data Assimilation into Large-Scale Hydrological Models, as a part of the DANSk-LSM project at the Geodesy Group of Aalborg University. In her first year, she mainly worked on the assimilation of daily GRACE TWS variations into hydrological models for detecting fast-evolving events. Her background is in Physics (University of the Basque Country, Spain) and an MSc in Geodetic Engineering and Applied Geophysics (University of Jaén, Spain).
Vipin Kumar Maurya @ Regional Centre of Geodesy MNIT (Motilal Nehru National Institute Of Technology). The title of the talk is:
Landslide monitoring and Precursor Identification using Geodetic Techniques
