EGU 25 – we’ve got you covered

Are you attending this year’s EGU General Assembly virtual or in person? No matter the way you attend or if it’s your first time or you are coming to Vienna for the GA for years, today we share with you some cryosphere programme highlights and general tips on how to make the most out of your conference experience.

Every year, we summarise the main cryosphere events for you, those for inspiration but especially those, where you have the chance to meet us and connect with other fellow cryosphere (early career) researchers. Here we go:

Add the following events to your calendar for your daily dose of cryosphere

Monday

  • Cryosphere blog lunch: Mon, 28 April, 12:45 – 13:30 | EGU networking zone, terrace G (Purple Level) – bring your own lunch and join us to meet the blog team and learn how to become part of it.

Tuesday

  • Cryosphere division meeting: Tue, 29 April, 12:45–13:45 | Room N1
  • Jules and Johannes Weertman Medal Lecture by Shin Sugiyama and Arne Richter Award for Outstanding ECS Lecture by Brice Noël: Tue, 29 April, 19:00–20:00 | Room F1

Wednesday

Now some useful tips to make the most out of your EGU25 experience

  • Take time to plan your week schedule ahead!
  • Don’t forget to take some breaks and also enjoy Vienna or the beautiful park around the conference centre.
  • Don’t be afraid to check out topics outside your expertise, you might be surprised what you can find.
  • Check out the variety of available short courses – show up early to secure a chair, some rooms fill up fast!
  • Also check out EGU’s YouTube channel for useful videos to prepare for the GA.
  • Bring a water bottle, coffee/tea mug and an old lanyard if you have one! There will be water fountains to refill your bottle – stay hydrated!
  • Don’t forget to pay a visit to the exhibitors, they do not only have nice goodies, but can be very inspiring resources for your future career.
  • Check out the morning EGU today news for daily highlights (available through the EGU25 app).

If this is not enough, check out the following posts by other EGU blogs

What are your highlights or tips for this year’s EGU? Feel free to share them with us, here or on our socials. Also, don’t forget to check out our (or EGU’s) socials for daily updates. You find them at #EGU25.

Enjoy #EGU25 and don’t forget to say “HI” at the cryo social, the cryo both or the blog lunch. We look forward to connecting with you!
