We are excited to announce the 10th edition of Geodesy Campfire – Share Your Research in November. The Geodesy EGU Campfire Events “Share Your Research” give (early career) researchers the chance to talk about their work.We have two exciting talks by our guest speakers Mario Moreno and Franck Ghomsi. Below you can find the details of the topics awaiting us. We will have time to network after the presentations.
Please join us on Zoom on February 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (CET). Register for this webinar here.
Franck Ghomsi @ University of Manitoba – Centre for Earth Observation Science presents:
Sea Level Variability over the Eastern Tropical Atlantic
Franck Ghomsi, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cape Town and the Centre for Earth Observation Science at the University of Manitoba, as well as a Research Officer at the National Institute of Cartography, Cameroon. He holds doctorates in Oceanography (University of Cape Town) and Geophysics & Geodynamics (University of Yaoundé I). His research focuses on sea-level variability, satellite altimetry, modelling, climate change, ocean dynamics, long-term trends, and their socio-economic and environmental impacts on vulnerable coastal regions. He also specializes in crustal geodynamics, including active volcanic lines and rift systems. Franck serves as an Early Career Scientist (ECS) Representative for the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and an Early Career Researcher (ECR) Representative for the Inter-Commission Committee on Geodesy for Climate Research. You can follow him on Twitter: @EitelGhomsi and Bluesky: @franckghomsi.bsky.social for updates on his research.
Mario Moreno @ German Aerospace Center (DLR) presents :
Airborne GNSS Reflectometry for Atmospheric Sounding
Mario Moreno is a doctoral candidate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics, and TU Berlin. His research focuses on atmospheric effects on GNSS Reflectometry (GNSS-R) from airborne and spaceborne observations, aiming to advance GNSS-R as an accurate and reliable remote sensing technique for monitoring the impacts of space weather and climate change.
