**International Conference: Analysis and Management of Changing Risks for Natural Hazards
18-19 November 2014, Padua, Italy

The conference provides an opportunity to discuss multi-hazard risks and multi-disciplinary research results on the effects of changing of hydro-meteorological risks and their effects on planning strategies. The conference focus 1) on natural hazard process understanding and innovative methodologies for quantitative hazard and risk forecasts, and 2) on the integration of engineering, socio-economic and human sciences in risk management and prevention planning in practice. The International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG/AIG) offers 2 grants of 250 Euros each to PhD students in Geomorphology from Europe (except Italy) who are willing to take part in this Conference. Priority will be given to applicants who have a special interest in the field of geomorphological hazards and risks, to be proved by their CV. **Oxfam Campaigns and Policy Internships

Four trainees each year will have the opportunity to work in Oxfam’s Campaigns, Policy & Influencing team and develop new skills and experiences.  The scheme is structured around placements in different areas/teams, where you, as a trainee, will be expected to deliver (with support) small projects / assignments and contribute in other ways to our work.  You will also be part of a structured training programme, covering core skills and comprising of monthly workshops and other training. Joel is the Founder/Director of Geology for Global Development (@Geo_Dev) an organisation working to support geologists to make a sustainable contribution to the fight against global poverty. He is an interdisciplinary researcher, with a PhD in geography (natural hazards), and research interests in multi-hazard frameworks, disaster risk reduction, rural water projects, and sustainable development. This work has taken him to Chile, China, Guatemala, India, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda. Joel is currently based at the British Geological Survey, and tweets at @JoelCGill.
