What a GA

The Euroepan Geoscience Union General Assembly has come and gone, lets hope that this was a great experience to all especially those attending for first time. This year EGU saw as many as 12,000+ scientists attending from over 100 countries. Scientific contributions consisted of 4,800+ oral, 9,500+ poster, and 483 PICO presentations.

Here is a small gallery showing the various aspects of EGU (through the lens of a mobile phone):

Give your feedback

EGU is truly a bottom-up organisation and each and every participant can make a difference. Your feedback is extremely important. Please share the good and the bad experiences and also make your suggestions on how things can improve. Provide your feedback here: http://egu2014.eu/feedback.

Share your presentation

You have the opportunity to upload your oral, PICO, or poster presentation. Share your science with others particularly those who might have missed the chance to see your contribution  at EGU or want to re-visit your work. You will be able to declare your copyright and to enable the presentation as open access publication. Your presentation will be distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License. The upload of your presentation is free of charge and is not followed by a review process. All legal and technical information as well as the upload form are available at: http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/egu2014/abstractpresentation

Matthew Agius is a recent PhD graduate from the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies in Ireland and is now doing research at the University of Southampton (National Oceanography Centre). His research focuses on the dynamics of the lithosphere beneath Tibet, the Central Mediterranean, and the Pacific Ocean. Matthew’s role as a young scientist representative is to promote the efforts done by young researchers and to engage in discussions that concern seismology students. You can reach Matthew via e-mail at matthew.agius@soton.ac.uk.
