Between a rock and a hard blog is the brainchild of Elspeth Robertson and Charly Stamper, wannabe members of the science twitterati and PhD students in the School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol, UK. After two years of confining their idle PhD and science-related chat to the common room, they decided to unleash their musings to the world. Now joined by several other students in the department, the blog focuses on their PhD experiences during our first footholds in academia. They also love to ramble on about general Earth Science topics that pique our interest.
