Elena Päffgen

After completing her bachelor's degree in physics, Elena enrolled in the Master's program "Physics of the Earth and Atmosphere" at the University of Bonn in 2023. With a particular interest in climate dynamics and monitoring, she began her master's thesis in May of this year, focusing on gas exchange at the air-sea interface using measurements from the Baltic Sea. She applied for a position in the "Family-Friendly Conferences" project at the Meteorological Institute early in 2023, working with Leonie Esters and Lisa Schielicke, and has since found the experience enriching, contributing to a more inclusive scientific community while gaining valuable early career research skills.
