Why guest writers?
Seismology opens a window into volcanic, tectonic, oceanic, atmospheric and artificial processes. Spanning from the generation of earthquakes, to their environmental effects, to the most hidden phenomena inside Earth, Seismology involves different scales in time and space. Different studies, different stories and different perspectives for a broader overview on the latest discoveries in our field in a language understandable not only to fellow scientists but also to the general public.
How to become a guest writer?
Get in touch with us! Or directly contact the blog editor – Marina Corradini (corradini@ipgp.fr). If in doubt, you can submit your idea for a post via the page Submit a Post on GeoLog, or email the EGU Head of Media, Communications and Outreach, Terri Cook, who can help with initial enquiries and introduce you to individual blog editors.
What are the benefits?
Apart from your blog article gaining exposure by being on the front pages of the EGU website and the EGU blogs, consider the increased backlinks and referral traffic, or the broader spread of your work on our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), or the advertisement among the blog network at our annual General Assembly, which has over 16,000 attendees. And, of course, you’ll get to join a great community of bloggers (21 blogs run by more than 60 volunteers)!
