Climate: Past, Present & Future

Francisco A. Hevia-Cruz

I am a Chilean geologist and a 3rd year PhD candidate at Geosciences Paris-Saclay (GEOPS), working on the project "Climatic and landscape evolution of the Azores Archipelago over the past 1 Myr". I'm interested in studying the interactions between volcanoes and their environment, so I am trying to understand how climate can impact the evolution of volcanic islands and how eruptions and the weathering of volcanic products can impact the climate from local to global scales.

The Atlantic Ocean, a climate driver for Europe and North America The climate of both Europe and North America is influenced by the conditions of the Atlantic Ocean. This teleconnection between the ocean and the atmosphere has been the focus of great interest, especially in the context of ongoing global warming. For instance, Cresswell-Clay et al. (2022) noted an expansion of the North Atlantic Os ...[Read More]
