Further details on events at the EGU GA 2011 related to recent Natural Hazard Events

Further details are available about the recently added session at the EGU General Assembly 2011.

US4: The 22 February 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, Conveners:Mary Fowler, Charlotte Krawczyk and Ramon Carbonell, in Room D on Thursday, 07 April, 08:30–10:15 will have three speakers on various aspects of the earthquake plus time for discussion.

US5: The 11 March 2011 Tohoku (Sendai) Earthquake and Tsunami, Conveners: Stefano Tinti and Bruce D. Malamud in Room D on Friday, 08 April, 08:30–10:00 will have speakers covering various aspects of the the earthquake, tsunami, and economic impacts. There is an associated townhall meeting TM10: Panel Discussion on The 11 March 2011 Tohoku (Sendai) Earthquake and Tsunami, Conveners: Stefano Tinti , Euan Nisbet and Bruce D. Malamud, which will be in Room D on Friday, 08 Apr, 13:30–15:00.

If people have posters they would like to put up related to both the New Zealand EQ event and the Japan EQ and Tsunami event, this will be during FRIDAY 10:30-12:00. You are welcome to bring any posters and put them up related to this event. Information and submission details for these posters are now available for the 22 February 2011 Christchurch Earthquake and the Tohoku (Sendai) Earthquake & Tsunami. These poster titles will not be available in the online-programme during the EGU GA 2011, but will be available afterwards.

Bárbara Ferreira was the Media and Communications Manager of the European Geosciences Union from 2011 to 2019. Bárbara has also worked as a science writer specialising in astrophysics and space sciences, producing articles for the European Space Agency and others on a freelance basis. She has a PhD in astrophysics from the University of Cambridge.
